Cable Machine Operator

Santa Teresa, New Mexico Full-time

Job Overview

Our plant in New Mexico is state of the art and we are seeking Cable Machine Operators who can run machinery in cable/wire production, set up, operate, and monitor equipment to make various cables, while ensuring quality results.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and run machines for winding, twisting, extruding, or cutting wires
  • Monitor products for defects and using tools (micrometers, calipers) to check dimensions against specs
  • Perform routine checks, cleaning, lubricating, and basic troubleshooting on equipment
  • Move raw materials and finished goods using equipment like forklifts
  • Record production data and reporting issues

Required Skills

  • Mechanical Aptitude: Understanding how machinery works
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy and quality
  • Safety Awareness: Following strict safety protocols
  • Physical Stamina: Standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Basic Math & Computer Skills: For data logging and machine interfaces

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing/Factory floor
  • Can be noisy and physically demanding
  • Open to working 1st/3rd shift or specialty schedules (3 x 12 hours)
